Description
Wild Flower Bulky Handspun Textured Yarn. AR0117TAU. Lockspun Angora Plyed Boho Art Yarn.
The inspiration of this yarn was a giveaway in honor of Honey bees and beekeepers. It reminded me of the Wild Flowers that bees use to create honey.
I handspun Dyed Longwool locks and lockspun them into a Single. The single is plyed with a 2 ply fine pale pink Angora Yarn. The dominant color through out the yarn is honey, gold, and greens in various shades with small bits of yellow and orange. This represents the bees and their honey. There are pops of pink and white with a little pale purple and blues here and there to represent the wild flowers in a field.
- Wool: Leicester, Teeswater, and Border Leicester x Gotland Long Wool locks and Angora
- 25 yd skein
- 5-6 WPI
- Yarn weight: 6 Super Bulky
- Thick and Thin yarn with average WPI 5-6
This yarn has so much texture and color. It is a textured art yarn that is very workable on a set of needles for knitting and hooks for crochet. It would also be wonderful for use in textured weaving. I can picture this woven into a shawl, scarf or a wall hanging. Use it as the main yarn in your piece or as an edging or accent for effect.
The last photo is a scarf for reference that I wove using various Honey dyed yarns and part of a skein of this yarn.
Use 5 dpi for weaving for a looser sett with an open drape with movement.
Recommended size 17 knitting needle and size Q crochet hook for a more open flowing stitch and drape. The yarn has been set in a hot wash and hung unweighted to dry.
Hand wash cold with (LIKE) similar colors. Hang or lay flat to dry.
